Abstract

This study addresses human trafficking for labor exploitation in Brazil, highlighting the importance of effective prevention strategies. Criminal compliance is presented as an essential tool for companies, not only in fulfilling legal obligations but also in adopting a proactive approach to protecting human rights. By incorporating compliance and due diligence practices, organizations can identify and mitigate risks along their supply chains, preventing labor exploitation. The justification for this study lies in the growing relevance of preventing human trafficking, especially in a country like Brazil, marked by socioeconomic inequalities. Corporate compliance emerges as a vital mechanism, both for legal compliance and social responsibility. The article demonstrates how companies can use criminal compliance to prevent human trafficking, emphasizing the role of corporations in combating this crime.
