Abstract

The global increase in solid waste production is a problem with serious environmental impacts. In Brazil, despite the Waste Policy being inspired by Spanish legislation, many municipalities still dispose of waste irregularly. Organized crime is interested in waste due to the high costs of its management. It is necessary to improve legislation as one of the comprehensive plan measures.
