A german view of gender challenges in the quest for success

The path for a woman to reach the top of positions in companies, especially those in the private sector, is too long and the arrival at the destination is uncertain. For most women in Germany, joining the top management of companies still remains an almost unattainable goal. The article aims to present the current German context regarding the female gender in top management positions, including current statistics on the number of women holding such positions in the private sector. In addition, the current legal provisions on the subject are briefly explained, as are the reasons why more women should be entrusted with top management roles. The challenges faced during the long road to the corporate top are also included in this work, as well as some factors that can contribute to success.
