The loneliness of women in the prison system: from invisibility to abandonment

Abstract

This article aims to study the current situation that involves women in the prison system, so that it will address the loneliness that affects them in prison. For this, the sociocultural factors that contribute to the growth of the female population in prison will be analyzed, seeking to identify the reality through which they are subjected, comparing it with that of men, as well as the issue of social inequality, which represents the trigger of the problem and the psychological consequences experienced by these women.
